Why We Love Silk . . . .

While cotton has been King in the United States, it's not so in much of the rest of the world. Indeed, silk bedding is as appreciated throughout the world today as it has been for a very long time. After all, it was the fiber of choice for centuries of Oriental nobility. And it is no wonder why. It is elegant and beautiful, and keeps its shimmering gloss for many years. It drapes around you, conforming to every body curve, enveloping you when you sleep. It is comfortable in the summer and winter, absorbing and giving off moisture faster than cotton. It is many times stronger and wears many years longer than cotton. It is less flammable. And unlike cotton, it produces no lint.

Silk comforters are the best natural alternative to down. DeWoolfson brand silk-filled comforters are made with your choice of four coverings: cotton sateen, heavy weight silk satin - duple silk winter weight, light weight habotai silk  - duple silk summer weight, and a light weight cotton voile. All are filled with the finest hand-pulled, Mulberry silk floss. We evaluated many types of silk fill, including wild Tussah silk and lesser qualities of Mulberry floss, but in the end decided that the hand-pulled quality was worth the additional cost. These comforters were carefully designed by DeWoolfson and made for us by our partners in the famous silk region of China.
